Minister Andrea Taylor
Minister Andrea Taylor is a native New Yorker. She was raised in
the South Bronx. She currently resides in the Jamaica section of
Queens with her husband of two years, Peter Taylor.
Minister Taylor has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Black Studies
from the State University of New York College at New Paltz; as well
as a Master of Science in Teaching degree from Iona College.
An educator by profession, Minister Taylor has held the position
of Education Director of two community based, not-for-profit Head
Start programs in Harlem. She is the former director of the Harlem
Children’s Zone Head Start. Her gifts of teaching and administration
are evident in her professional and spiritual life.
At the age of 14, Minister Taylor accepted Christ as her personal
Savior at the Friendly Baptist Church in the Bronx, under the pastorate
of Reverend Albert L. Sutton. In 1996, Minister Taylor the Antioch
Baptist Church of Corona under Christian Experience.
Minister Taylor has served in various ministries within Antioch:
- Assistant Director of the Beverly Wise Harris Children’s Ministry
- Chairperson of Children’s Day
- Assistant Director of the Tillers Liturgical Dance Ministry
- Thursday Night Bible Study
- Sunday School Junior High Teacher
- Blessed Hands Sign Language Ministry
- Antioch Bible Institute Instructor of Sign Language
- Co-Director of Youth At Work
The defining moment in Minister Taylor’s spiritual journey was
answering God’s call to preach the gospel. Minister Taylor was licensed
Good Friday 2003. Understanding the important of not only being
called, but being equipped, Minister Taylor is a student at New
York Theological Seminary where she is pursuing a Master of Divinity
degree.
Minister Taylor is grateful God for all the blessings in her life.
She truly believes that God has ordered her steps, and it is her
desire to fulfill His purpose in her life.
