Antioch's Ministries MONTH CLUBS The month clubs are set up for every month of the year enabling all members to belong to at least one organization allowing for fellowship and fundraising. MUSIC MINISTRY
Angelic Choir (Children, Ages 5-12) Sister Friends Women's Ministry Sister Friends Women's Ministry is for the spiritual, social, emotional, mental and physical development of women. Some of the activities include prayer groups, book readings, roundtable discussions, workshops and retreats. There are occasions during the year for social fellowships such as the Women's Breakfast and luncheons. The annual culminating event of Sister Friends Women's Ministry is Women's Day on the third Sunday in October. ANTIOCH RAINBOW KEEPERS (ARK MISSIONARY SOCIETY) As the ark and a vessel for God, ARK nurtures those in need as we build a bridge of love, respect, harmony, faith, understanding, patience and prayer between our church and the surrounding community. MALE MINISTRY Ministry established to meet the spiritual needs of African American males wherein All Male Worship Services are provided along with special programs and mentorship for younger males. They also have regular monthly meetings. GEM God's Ebony Males, a mentoring program designed for young African-American Men has continued to strive toward our goal of preparing young men to thrive in the greater societal setting. We attempt to accomplish this by integrating biblical principles into the daily lives of the young men. We use biblical principles that we couple with strong Christian family values. We hope to develop in the young men a tool they can use to help them resolve contemporary moral and ethical conflicts. GAAYAW God's African American Young Adult Woman is a female induction program geared towards mentoring for the spiritual growth of young African American women. COMPUTER MINISTRY A program to familarize persons with the computer, the most recent software available, universal computer commands and personalized instruction in wordprocessing and spreadsheet functions. Computer Ministry also conducts one day workshops for children and for computer Bible study. ANTIOCH BAPTIST CHURCH CHRISTIAN BOOKSTORE The Antioch Baptist Church provides a bookstore that deals specifically with African American Christian literature, topics and history for all age groups. ROOSEVELT WOODARD, JR. ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT The Athletic Department is a ministry that incorporates fitness, sportsmanship, competitiveness, fellowship, and spirituality. Our facilities include an Aerobics Room, a Weight Room and Cardiovascular Room. Aerobics and Yoga are also offered. YOUTH AT WORK (YAW) Youth At Work is designed for young people between the ages of 13 and 25 to sponsor and organize events specific for their own fellowship. AUDIO/VIDEO MINISTRY The Audio/Video Ministry captures events within and without our fellowship for lasting memorable reflections. Services are available for minimal costs. CHILDREN'S MINISTRY The Beverly Wise Harris Children's Ministry ministers to children ages 4 to 12. They meet two Saturdays of the month and have Sunday Ministry Moments three times a month. EVANGELISM MINISTRY The Evangelistic Ministry is a team who will work toward fulfilling the Great Commission (Mathew 28:19-20) and the Mandate for Ministry. They provide training in all areas of evangelism, i.e. Person to Person witnessing, Christian Living, Angel Tree Program, Visiting Prisons, etc. MINISTRY FOR ELDERLY NEEDS AMEN(Antioch Ministry for Elderly Needs) is a program that services the senior citizens of the church. DRAMA GUILD The Drama Guild uses dramatic art to reach in, reach out, reach down and reach up with the truth of scriptures, expressed in the pulpit, on and off stage, through workshops, scripts and personal lives. USHERS There are four Usher Boards, two mixed gender groups, one all male board, one young adult board and a jr. board. They usher on different Sundays and comprise the Joint Usher Board which ushers on special days. ANTIOCH BIBLE INSTITUTE Antioch Bible Institute (ABI) is a year-round Christian Education Institute designed to instruct, enlighten, and equip Christians to become more effective disciples for Christ. ABI has an articulation agreement with Nyack College. Students who take classes for credit at ABI will be able to transfer those credits to Nyack College. All students can work toward the three level certificate program. All students who successfully complete classes receive American Baptist Churches of USA's Continuing Education Units (CEU). In addition, ABI also sponsors health fairs. BEREAVEMENT GROUP Bereavement Group is a support group for those who have experience losses of any kind and individuals who want to learn how to deal with persons who are or have experienced losses.
