...Be Apart and JOIN!
 This
week the Antioch Web Committee has had a chance to meet with two
of the newest Choir Directors at the Antioch Baptist Church. Chloe
and Daniel Bentley are now the newest co-directors of the Celestial
Choir. Chloe is 23 and Daniel is 17. They have been doing a wonderful
job with the Celestial Choir so we thought it would be a wonderful
idea to feature them in our youth section. We also spoke with the
fabulous Hornrette Washington. We asked them a few questions and
here is what they had to say?
Interviewer.Chloe and Danel
what is your back ground in music?
Chloe. "I graduated from LaGuardia
Performing Arts High School. I was in the R& B Band & Song Writing
in Oneonta. I took 10 Years of Piano Lessons. I grew up in the Angelic
Choir and later graduated to Celestial Choir."
Daniel. Currently I am a vocal major at LaGuardia Performing
Arts High School. I've been playing the piano for 9 years.
Interviewer.When did you first start singing?
Chloe "I was born to music."
Daniel "I started singing at 5 years old."
Interviewer.Have you always wanted to direct your
own choir?
Chloe. No
Daniel. No, I just decided 2 years ago.
 Interviewer.Did
you ever think you would direct your own choir?
Chloe. No
Daniel. No. It is a very suprising experience.
Interviewer.What is your Vision for the Celestial
Choir?
Chloe.I want them to put their all into what they do and
to keep in mind who and what we're doing it for
Daniel." I want us to put all of our efforts into singing
for the Lord and be the best choir that I know we can be because
we definitely have the talent.
Interviewer. How is it working with your sibling?
Chloe. It's Great
Daniel.Working with my sister is a cooperative agreement.
We know each others boundaries very well enough to know what we
can and can not do.
Interviewer.How is it working with Hornrette Washington?
Chloe.I think she is an incredible talented women. A genius
of our time and I think I'm going to learn a lot from her.
Daniel. This is an experience that I am glad that I can be
apart of because she is one of the one greatest musians I've ever
met and known.
Interviewer.Who is your favorite Gospel Artist?
Chloe. Don't have one.
Daniel.Donnie McClurkin.
 Interviewer.Hornrette
Washington how is it working with Chloe and Daniel?
Hornrette Washington.I find Chloe very stimulating. I think
she is definately rising to the occasion. Her devotion and love
for music is surfacing. I can see great things in the future for
her as one of the leaders in the music ministry. I believe that
she has found her nitch.
Daniel is a little different to me. I can see Daniel on Broadway.
I think his face lights up when he is on stage. I can see him as
one of the greatest entertainers of all time. I think I will see
his name in lights sometime very soon.
Interviewer. What do you feel about them being so
young? What kind of affect does Antioch have on our young people
as musicians?
Hornrette Washington.I don't see them as being young and
I've seen younger than that. I have watched Chloe & Daniel from
infant's until now. Antioch is giving all of our young people a
wide whelm in which they can express themselves in singing dancing
& playing instruments. There are several different areas of music
being ministered on any given Sunday. I hope that there will be
many others that we have influenced join the Music Ministry at Antioch.
I want them to see where they can be apart and join!
